Adult service

The key aim of our Adult Service is to deliver a high quality bereavement counselling service for the community of Kingston upon Thames with equal access to all that need it. We welcome and respect people from all backgrounds.

Counselling can be arranged during the day and evening according to your availability. For counselling sessions, we usually use our premises in Canbury Park Road, close to Kingston town centre and Kingston train and bus stations, but we can also arrange sessions in your own home or at other locations.

The services we offer to those who are living, working or studying in Kingston or registered with a Kingston GP include

  • advice and information
  • pre-counselling assessment
  • one to one counselling
  • aftercare support group

What we offer is shaped by the needs of the individual and we endeavour to match those accessing our service with a counsellor with the appropriate expertise, such as pre-natal death or suicide.

We accept referrals from GPs or other health professionals or self referrals. If a Kingston GP sends us a written referral, then the counselling is free for the client as it is funded through the NHS. If you do not wish to be referred by a Kingston GP we will ask for a contribution to the cost of the counselling. This will be discussed on an individual basis.

We also offer a service for children and young people.

If you wish to make a referral or find out more information please contact us on 020 8547 1552 or email on adultservice@kingstonbereavementservice.org.uk
