Who we are
Kingston Bereavement Service is a small charity based in Kingston upon Thames and is committed to supporting bereaved children, young people, adults and families in our community. In 2013 we celebrated 25 successful years of helping people in Kingston, making a real difference to people's lives.
We offer counselling for individuals and training and consultancy for local professionals and employers to help them develop their understanding of the bereavement process and its impact.
We have an adult service and a specialist children and young person's service called the Saying Goodbye Project.
Our counselling is provided by a team of around 30 volunteers who have undertaken our compulsory, specialist training programme in bereavement counselling.
We are a registered charity, number 299430 and an organisational member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to its code of ethics. All volunteer counsellors have DBS clearance and undertake adult or Children and Young People's safeguarding training. We have safeguarding policies and procedures in place which are reviewed every 3 years.

We currently run two Aftercare Support Groups, for clients who have finished their individual counselling but would like a bit more support. These run once a month on a Monday at 10.30am and on a Thursday at 6pm. Please click here for more details.
